Cell Phone Policy Reminder

Families, as we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, here’s an important reminder about student cell phones and smart devices at Charles City County Public Schools.
The existing expectations will be enforced more consistently across the division this year.

 During the school day, cell phones, AirPods, smartwatches, and other personal electronic devices must be OFF and AWAY.

🏫 Elementary: Pre-K–6 | 8:30 AM–3:45 PM
🏫 Middle & High: Grades 7–12 | 7:15 AM–2:40 PM

The policy applies from the first bell to dismissal, with approved exceptions for students who have qualifying accommodations or health-related needs.

Families can help by talking with students about expectations, encouraging respectful choices, and helping them identify a safe place to store their devices.
Together, we can reduce distractions, protect learning, and support a focused school environment.
